The Nursing Science commenced full-time undergraduate education in 2010. In 2014, it gained approval from the Ministry of Education to collaborate with Gävle University in Sweden to offer undergraduate nursing education programs. In 2017, it initiated nursing education for international students. The Nursing Science is designated as a national and provincial first-class undergraduate program and obtained accreditation from the Ministry of Education for Nursing in 2020.
The program boasts a faculty comprising 53 instructors, including 28 full-time faculty members, 15 foreign instructors, and 10 clinical lecturers. Among the full-time faculty, 39.3% hold the titles of professor or associate professor, with 8 individuals holding doctoral degrees and 4 currently pursuing doctoral studies. Several faculty members have been recognised with provincial and national teaching awards.
The curriculum encompasses five course clusters: Fundamental Nursing, Medical Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Obstetric and Pediatric Nursing, and Community Nursing, along with a Nursing Laboratory Centre. Advanced equipment, including over 1200 units of high-intelligence simulation apparatus such as comprehensive simulated human models, are available for practical training.
The objective of the program is to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory, skills, and clinical practice, fostering lifelong learning abilities and professional ethics. It aims to produce international nursing professionals capable of adapting to nursing services in their home countries or internationally.
Note:
1) Due to varying nurse qualification certification requirements worldwide, applicants should confirm the qualification requirements for nursing practice in their intended employment regions before applying to this program. In China, graduates need to pass the Chinese-language nursing qualification examination after completing four years of study to obtain the Chinese Nursing Certificate, which is not universally recognised.
2) Students entering the internship phase shall have attained at least HSK Level 4 in Chinese proficiency.
