To deepen international students' understanding of contemporary China and foster a greater appreciation and affection for the country, our university's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange recently organized a social practice activity titled Discovering the Charm of Lishui, Experiencing Contemporary China. A total of 45 international students from over 20 countries, including Zimbabwe, Côte d'Ivoire, and Nigeria, participated in the event.

During visits to the Lishui City Planning Exhibition Hall and the Lishui Museum, the students listened, interacted, and explored the city's natural resources, cultural heritage, and urban planning. They were deeply impressed by the harmonious coexistence of Lishui's mountains, rivers, people, and cityscape.

At the Lishui Lishan Modern Agricultural Industrial Base, the students donned traditional She ethnic clothing and participated in the She sports activity of persimmon picking. They engaged in discussions with the base's leaders, gaining a deeper understanding of agricultural modernization, smart farming, and sustainable development. After the event, many expressed their desire to share the charm of Lishui's landscapes and tell the story of China's development in the new era.

The Discovering the Charm of Lishui, Experiencing Contemporary China practice activity offered international students a multidimensional perspective on Lishui's urban development through diverse hands-on experiences. It deepened their understanding and love for contemporary China. This year, our university's Office of International Cooperation and Exchange has actively responded to Lishui's initiative to build a youth-friendly city, enhancing international students' ideological education. Through organizing various activities, we encourage students to immerse themselves in local culture, become storytellers of China's development, and serve as cultural ambassadors sharing China's rich heritage with the world.
