The Eight-Section Brocade (Baduanjin) is one of the most widely practiced forms of Qigong in China. Originating in the Northern Song Dynasty, it has nearly a thousand years of history as a revered practice for health and wellness, known as the Art of Longevity. Ampofi Isaac, an undergraduate student from Ghana in the Computer Science and Technology program at Lishui University, is also a member of the university’s Qigong club, where he studies Chinese cultural practices such as Baduanjin. He says that whether it’s computer science, the Eight-Section Brocade, or Chinese tea culture, all are invaluable assets in his life journey. He plans to bring these treasures back to his homeland to share with others.
